A rare moment came 16 or 17 years ago when I discoverd
Kornog bringing the ruins to life at Tonquedec, A 13th century
castle in northern Brittany. I was an early encounter with Breton
music, and, thanks to them, I became absorbed with it. Here
again, with the re-birth of those sounds from the early 1980's -
Kornog IV - is the freshness and mitery of Kornog's musical
lyricism. Their music is at once noble and modest, scintillating
and majestic - like the sea around Brittany relentessly rising and
descending. I am gratefull to you Kornog. Thanks Christian LEMAITRE,
Jamie McMENEMY, Jean Michel VEILLON, Gilles LE BIGOT for playing your music among those
Tonquedec stones ... for opening up to me your magical world of
Breton music.
